 1. Daniel Amokachi

He was popularly referred to as “The Bull” and was discovered by Clement Westerhof (the then coach of the National team) while he was playing for ranchers Bee. He was born on December 30, 1972. He played a key role in Nigeria’s victory during AFCON 1994 and also during the Olympic 1996 game where Nigeria beat Argentina in the final. The played for Barcelona, Everton FC and other top clubs during his active days.

He was born on the 23rd of January, 1962 in Bauchi State. He is Nigeria’s longest serving skipper. He played a key role as a skipper in the national team and featured during the 1994 FIFA World Cup. He was also part of the team that won the 1994 African cup of Nations.

He was the former Super eagles coach. Apart from Mahmoud El-Gohary of Egypt, he was the only person to win the Africa cup of Nations both as a player and a coach.
