Biography of Simisola Ogunleye
Bolatito Simisola Ogunleye, popularly known as Simi by fans, was born on April 19, 1988. She is 29 years old. She is a singer as well as songwriter. Simi was born in Surulere Lagos. Singing and dancing were her childhood hobby. At the age of 10, she had joined the church teenage choir. Simi started out as a gospel artist when she released her first album Ogaju in 2006. In 2011, she met Oscar HemanAkah, who writes and produces songs. She connected with him, and in 2013, she became officially signed with Oscar Music Productions. This was after her music style had been well created and perfected. In 2014, she officially got signed to X3M record label, a Lagos-based Music productions which has the likes of Praize and other Nigerian R & B artistes as crew. She joined the record label on reasons associated to her height in music. She explained that the structural, financial, and supportive cooperation of the successful record label made her connect with them, so she could break through easily and speedily. She made her first hit in 2014 with the tracks ‘Tiff’ and ‘E no go Funny’, getting nominations from various Awards zone. Simi was ushered into limelight with her two first singles which received massive attention through air-plays, online streaming and downloads. It is considered a credible and nice attempt for a start. In 2015, Simi collaborated with Falz to produce another hit track. Things worked out well for Simi as her 2015 track, ‘Jamb Question’ was warmly welcomed and aired, also receiving media commendations and great views on YouTube. Simi also writes, and blogs. However, time had made her writing suffered. She took time to share her life, family, and personal experiences in her writings and blogs to encourage talented youngsters. Bolatito Simisola would always hint on the inevitable gains of hard work that brought her glory today. Definitely, she is embodied with all what it takes to emerge a great singer. With her sonorous voice, fashion, dress, and comportment, she really is getting on the crest in the Music Industry.

Controversies: In September 2016, Simi had a video up on Instagram, which caused controversies, dragging in Ycee, a famous Nigerian rapper into the scene. Simi was dressed in a dress unfit for her while playing on the keyboard. It revealed some sensitive parts of her body. In a way, comments from fans involved Ycee and the controversy went on for a while.
