Biography of Omoni Oboli
Beautiful Nigerian actress, scripwriter and film director, Omoni Oboni Sophie was born on the 22nd of April, 1978 in Benin City, Edo State. She hails from Delta State. A very talented Nollywood actress who has featured in numerous popular movies including The Figurine, Being Mrs Elliott, Omoni’s passion for public enlightenment and entertainment had been nurtured right from her secondary school days. As a very outgoing girl, she was actively involved in her school’s Literary and Debating Society, Press Club and other engaging activities in school. On top of this, she was also the Head Girl of her time. A gifted screen writer and a unique actress, she adds a touch of professionalism to her acting whenever she is on the screen. No wonder, her fan base continues to soar. The notable movie producer with several movies to her credit got into acting through a close friend who had met Keppy Ekpenyong and Uche Macaulay in Lagos. Because they knew Omoni Oboli’s acting prowess, they linked her up and thereafter she was invited for an audition in Lagos. That was to be the beginning of Omoni’s Nollywood career. Besides acting, Omoni Oboli is also interested in fashion and charity work. She is the founder of Omoni Oboli Foundation, a charity-based organisation geared towards helping the less privileged women and children in the society. Oboli has featured in several award-winning movies and has been awarded for her roles in many of them. She is married to Nnamdi Oboli with three charming boys.
Education: Omoni Oboli graduated from the University of Benin with a degree in Foreign Languages. She later went on to the New York Film Academic where she was trained in digital filmmaking.

One of the popular movies in which Omoni Oboli starred, Okafor’s Law was premiered on the 24th of March, 2017. But a court injunction prevented the screening of the movie having been accused of copyright infringement by Jude Idada. He claimed to have written part of the script. While addressing the guests at the occasion slated for the movie premier, Omoni burst in tears debunking the copyright infringement as nothing but abuse of law.
