Biography of Helen Paul
Helen Paul also known as Tatafo by fans, is a Nigerian comedienne, singer, and actress. Helen was raised by two disciplinarians – her mother and grandmother. Growing up for her was quite bumpy, having to contend with her parents’ rules and orders. She started out as a kid entertaining peer groups, neighbours, and friends within her vicinity. Helen has worked with several media channels including Lagos Television, Continental Broadcasting Service, and MNet. She became a full-fledged comic icon when she aired on Radio Continental 102.3, Lagos. She was known as Tatafo on the programme, addressing matters of cognizance and relevance in a tone most admired by the radio audience. She has featured in several music deals with artistes like Psquare, Infinity, Yinka Davies, and Olufunmi. She also composed radio jingles for brands such as Peak Milk, Indomie noodles, and Cowbell Milk. During this period, she also worked at Eko Reelmix Studio, and Radio Lagos FM. Her first stage performance was at an event in her university. Her friends encouraged her to grab the opportunity to showcase her talent to fill in the gap of the invited comedian who was absent. In July 2012, she released an album titled Welcome Party. With her entrepreneurial spirit intact, Helen Paul founded Massive Fabrics and Bridals in 2012. She had other three boutiques in different parts in Lagos. She also began a Theatre and Film Academy in 2014. Also in the same year, she was appointed ambassador for Globacoms Telecom Company. A year after she became ambassador for Harpic brand. Same year she was also INEC ambassador. Helen Paul currently anchors two programmes on the radio: Tatafo Gist on Naija FM and Comedy Drive Time with Tatafo on Metro FM. Both programmes present societal issues which Helen discusses comically and invites participation from listeners. Furthermore, she had appeared in numerous Nollywood movies and she is in fact a prominent actress. She is married to Femi Bamisele in 2010. They have two sons. In an interview, she described her union as the best friendship she ever experienced and cherished. Helen is doubtlessly an essential figure in the comic, musical, and theatrical sections of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Education: She had a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Theatre Arts in 2010 and 2012 respectively from the University of Lagos. She also has a certificate in Media Enterprise from a School of Media and Communication, Pan African University.
She has the Basic Presentation Certificate from the Federal Radio Corporations of Nigeria (FRCN). She is currently studying for her PhD degree in Theatre Arts at the University of Lagos.

Helen Paul faced a misinterpretation of one her staged comedy with AY Live. It involves one of her mentors, whom she calls father, Ali Baba. According to her, there was a comic play, which the audience saw as disrespectful to Ali Baba. For this, many believed her to be at loggerheads with the veteran comedian. But Helen later cleared the matter on air.
