Biography of  Falz



Falz, otherwise known as Falz the bad guy, is the son of Femi Falana, a renowned Nigerian journalist, activist, and lawyer. Falz was born in Lagos on 27th of October, 1990, with the name Folarin Falana. He is presently 26 years old. Falz’s mother, Funmi, is also a lawyer. It is however extremely amazing how Folarin managed to be Falz today, turning out as a rapper, singer, actor, and TV presenter. Like play, Falz began his moves on his career as a secondary school boy in 2009. Organizing a music group named, The School Boys, with support of his friends, he released most of his recordings in a mixtape and titled it Sakara-The Mixtape. In 2011, he came up with ‘Waz up Guy’ prior to releasing two hit tracks – ‘High Class and Currency’ – which skyrocketed his fame in the Nigerian Music Industry. 2014 came with rewards to Falz. His debut album, Wazup Guy, travelled like wild fire and boosted his popularity. By 2015, he had received several nominations for Awards. He then launched his second album titled Stories that Touch. It happened to be the best of all. With a kind of comic accent which appeals to his music lovers, Folarin Falana has also been a good actor. He featured in the popular TV series, Jenifer’s Diary in which he dazzled many with his hilarious act. Falz calls his style of music Wahzup music. It is consciously borne out of creativity. It mixes comic lyrics with Yoruba accent with a blend of Hip Hop. Falz is an extraordinary personality in terms of skill. The manner with which he sings and raps to convey his messages is unique. He had made a difference as a music artiste and is working towards making a mark in the Nigeria Music Industry.

Education: Falzs attended St. Leous Catholic Primary School at Ikeja. He got his secondary education from Olashoream International Secondary School, Osun State and then went on to study Law in the University of Reading before relocating to Nigeria for his law school. In 2012, he was called to bar.

In 2015, a big controversy came up with Vic O and Falz. Vic O threatened to ruin Falz’s career for dissing him as a controversial artiste on MTV base show. They both exchanged words on twitter.
