Mo’cheddah’ s Biography


Nicknamed Mocheddah as her stage name, Modupe-Oreoluwa Oyeyemi. Mo’cheddah is a popular Nigerian rapper and singer. She is the 4th of five children. Born and raised in Lagos on October 16 1990, she hails from Osun State. As a child, Mo’cheddah was very talented, outspoken and dramatic. So it was not surprising that she would later pursue a career in the entertainment industry. From the outset, acting was her thing, a thing she had been involved in as early as 12. But she later switched to music, writing songs and rapping in style. The stylised Nigerian music artist has featured several notable Nigerian artistes like Cobhams, Phyno, May D to mention only a few. She was signed to Knighthouse under which she had produced many hit songs before she took the giant leap of starting her own record label, which she called Micheddah Music. Modupe has been nominated for many notable awards. She has won some.

After her primary and secondary education at the University of Lagos Staff School, Yaba and Our Lady of Apostles Yaba respectively, she studied Creative Arts at the University of Lagos.

The fast rising Nigerian music artiste Mocheddah appears one of the most controversial in the industry. In 2015, she uploaded a video on instagram showing herself and the video producer, Moe Mosa. She tagged @mrmoemusa and mention him in a deriding manner.  She later said that it was a mistake. This infuriated the popular music video producer who responded on instagram saying that her attitude was unprofessional and that he was disappointed. Some minutes after Mr Musa’s outburst, lovers and fans of the rap artiste swiftly came to her defence lambasting Mr Moe Musa for being unnecessarily angry. This came after Mo’cheddah herself had said that the tag was a mistake.
