Dele Odule’s Biography

 

Synopsis:

A popular Nigerian veteran actor and film producer, Dele Odule, was born in Oru Ijebu, Ogun State in 1961. In 1969, just when he was 8, Dele lost his mother. Dele’s passion for acting had sprouted at a young age, though he probably did not get the chance to exhibit it. He said in one of his interviews that he probably would not have dabbled into acting professionally had his parents lived long. His parents were probably opposed to his desire to become an actor. In 1986, Dele began his acting career when he joined Mukaila Adebisi’s Oloko Theatre Group. He has since gone on to act in big movies. But the very movie that catapulted the widely acclaimed actor is Ti Oluwa Ni Ile (1993). Odule has left a remarkable imprint on movies and film production in Nigeria. He is currently President, Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria.

Education:

Dele Odule bagged a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, after obtaining a Grade 2 Certificate from the Teacher’s Training College, Oru. Before then he had atttended Itamerin Secondary School at Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State.

Controversies:

It has been said that Dele Odule likes women. Apart from the supposed rumour that the movie icon has ten children from different women, he was also said to have refused to let go a lady’s hands after a handshake at a movie shooting location. In addition, during an interview with Saharatv he was asked about the thing he always loved to do when he was not on a movie set. Without mincing words, Odule replied that he liked hanging out with women. What is more to say, Dele Odule loves and enjoys acting though, his love of women is superb!
