Cobhams Asuquo’s Biography
Cobhams Emmanuel Asuquo was born on the 6th of January, 1981 in Jos, Plateau state, Nigeria. He is a born blind Nigerian musician, producer and songwriter. He was signed on with Sony ATV London as a songwriter in 2005. In 2006, he set up his record label after working with Questionmark Entertainment as Head of Audio Productions. He is the head of productions and CEO of Cobhams Asuquo Music Productions (CAMP). He has worked with Bez Ikakula, Stan Iyke, Timi Dakolo, omawumi and Banky W amongst others. He started his professional training as a lawyer but pursued his lifelong desire by branching into fulltime music. According to him, his music career started while he was a kid when he used to puff his cheeks while playing the 12-bar blues. He has produced one of the finest artistes in Nigeria. He married Ojuolape Veronica on December 2, 2010 and their union is blessed with a son.

Cobhams never went to school to learn to play any musical instrument. Music was an escape route for him. He dropped out of the University of Lagos as a 300 Level student of Law to pursue his musical career full time.

He has produced for a number of artistes such as Asa. He produced her debut album and also wrote and co-wrote singles like “Fire on the Mountain” and “Jailer.” Other artistes include that he has produced for include Banky W, Omawumi, Waje, Timi Dakolo, Dare Art Alade, Rooftop MCs, Faze, mode 9, Ego, Sholla Allyson, Djinee and Olu Maintain.
