Few days ago, the President of NBC Entertainment announced Pearlena Igbokwe, a black woman, as the head of Universal Television, the production branch of the NBC television network. Pearlena was appointed after the former president suddenly left.
She is a mother of 2, who migrated to the U.S with her parents at 6. She was born in Lagos State and grew up in a small village in the southeastern part of Nigeria.
She began working at NBC Entertainment in 2012, as Executive Vice President, Drama Development, after spending two decades in programming at Showtime Networks. There she was responsible for bringing hit series like “Dexter” and “Nurse Jackie” to the air.
Congratulations to our own!
