Monica Ogah’s Biography
Monica Ogah is a popular Nigerian singer and songwriter. Her real name is Monica Ene Ogah. She was born on August 7, 1990 in Markurdi, Benue State. She is the youngest of six children. Monica did not receive much support from her parents, especially her father who had wanted her to become a nurse. But the fast rising Nigerian music artiste was greatly influenced by her mother who was a choir mistress in the church. She had her first music performance at the church where she was able to sharpen her singing skills. However, Monica really became famous after her brilliant performance at the 2011 4th edition of Project Fame West Africa in which she emerged winner. In 2013, Oga released Sometime in August her debut album, under Ultima Studios. Most of her songs have been widely played on radio stations across Nigeria.

After having her primary education at Bammco Nursery and Primary School, she went to Methodist Girls’ High School in Otukpo, Benue State.

As brilliant and stylish as her music is, Monica Ogah did not have a tertiary education. She was said to have entered the Benue State University where she was studying nursing. But when she could no longer meet up with the academic demands she left school and dedicated her time and effort to her music career.
