Jide Kosoko’s Biography
Born on 12 January 1954 into a royal family, Jide Kosoko is a veteran Nollywood actor of both Yoruba and English genres. His acting acumen has often been regarded as highly instructive. A very dramatic person on set, with a unique way of passing across his messages with a sense of humour, Jide’s roles in acting has been felt by all and sundry. His passion for acting has been with him from a very young age. As a child, he particularly featured in a popular television series titled Makanjuola. That was in 1964. The Nollywood actor whose father was also a prominent actor also featured in a movie titled Olorire in 2001. He confirmed in an interview that his acting career was influenced by his father. Jide has featured in quite a nunber of Nigerian movies of both Yoruba and English genres in which he played a leading role. A brand ambassador for Chivita and former President of Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), he is married to four wives with over a dozen children.
Jide Kosoko had his primary and secondary education at Yaba Methodist Primary School and Bona College respectively. Later he graduated from Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos, where he studied Business Administration.
Though Jide’s act makes people laugh, he mostly plays a rich man and father in most movies.

The only controversial issue about Jide Kosoko is his marrying two other women to his existing ones. Not minding what people are saying about his polygamous life, the veteran actor claimed it is God’s design for him.
