Son to the popular Nigerian Jazz Legend, Art Alade, Dare Art Alade, nicknamed Darey, is a multi-talented Nigerian singer, voiceover artiste, and TV presenter. Growing up in the city of Lagos where he was born and bred, Darey had penchant for music and performance. On several occasions, he had dazzled both the National troupe of Nigeria Choir and the Cathedral Choir with his extraordinary performance. Then he was barely a teenager. By 15, Darey had become a known voice whose music prowess was taken to the nooks and cranny of night clubs and carnivals in Lagos. During one his shows he was discovered by a talent hunter who saw in the young Darey a great radio presenter with a unique voice. Not long afterwards, Darey soon began presenting on Cool FM. He was a great planner, as he wonderfully was able to manage his time as a presenter and a student of music at the University of Lagos. But none of these experiences shot Darey into limelight. Then came 2006, Darey’s participation in the popular Television reality show Project Fame West Africa was right on time. He was not only loved by many for his handsomeness and captivating voice, but he also came third in the keenly contested competition. Thus, the Hip Hop singer’s journey to stardom had just begun. Two years after, Darey released his debut album under Storm Records; it was titled From Me 2 U. He has since gone on to release many albums. Darey had performed in and hosted several shows across Africa and beyond. He has won many awards.

The talented artiste was said to have taken a cue from Dakolo. However, in an interview with Punch, Darey disregarded the rumour, emphasising on the fact that his single preceded that of Timi.
