Nobody wants to be in a relationship that is lackluster and boring!
Everybody loves the honeymoon phase… for so many reasons. You’ve freshly fallen for someone new and are going on the best dates, and every adventure with them is exciting. But what happens when that stage is over? Your dates become routine, and you’re far too comfortable with them for anything to be exciting. If you’ve ever gone through the honeymoon phase with anyone, you know this is right…
There’s just something about getting too comfortable with someone that takes all the fire out of a relationship. Don’t you want that spark back? Don’t you want to feel like you’re a lovesick teenager again?
Rekindle your relationship to make it last forever!
Not all relationships that get past the honeymoon phase are doomed forever—obviously. But if you’re feeling stuck in a rut, you may need some outside help to get things back on the track of fun and excitement.
If you’re looking for ways to rekindle the love you felt in those first months, these are the best ways to do just that;
#1. Relive your first date. Make a pact to relive your first date as close to the real thing as you can: same restaurant, same time, and even the same outfits—if you can. Ladies, don’t forget the perfume you wore that night.
This will bring up all of the jittery feelings and excitement that went along with it. You’ll feel like you’re going on a very first date with them again and, believe me, it will rekindle your relationship.
#2. Go camping. Nothing brings a couple back together like the raw, natural earth. Going camping brings out all your vulnerabilities and even a few of your handy skills that your partner might not know you have. So get in with the dirt and grit and spend a night under the stars, roasting marshmallows and sharing body heat!
#3. Do something that you both hate. This might sound a little crazy, but in my experience, it works wonders. Do you both despise bowling? Then go do it! Bonding over something that you both dislike and having to suffer through it together will bring you much closer together and you’ll have a nice laugh about it, too!
#4. Surprise them often! Bring home their favorite dinner or flowers, or surprise them with tickets to see their favorite band. Little things here and there that show how much you care will almost guarantee that your flame will not dwindle.
#5. Talk to them again. I mean intimately. Don’t just ask about their day like you do every single day when they come home. Talk about the important things. Talk about what’s happening in the world and how you two feel about it.
Opening up those kinds of emotions brings people much closer together. You may even learn new things about them that you never knew before… despite how long you’ve been together.
#6. Stop nagging. Nagging is a huge turn off for everybody. No one wants to have fun with the person who is constantly trying to get them to do something they don’t want to do. Yes, the chores have to get done, but there are better ways of asking for them to be done than nagging.
#7. Stop complaining. You can complain about the catty office women at your work or how hard it is to keep up with school or chores, but never complain to your significant other about.. your significant other. It will bring your partner down and make them resent you and, in turn, put out the spark in your relationship.
#8. Make fun of them! Do you remember when you used to pick on their little cute habits and they would chase you around, trying to make you stop? Which almost always lead straight to making out or heading to the bedroom? Well, make that happen again! Make fun of them *innocently* and it’ll definitely help rekindle your relationship.
#9. Initiate fun at every opportunity. When your relationship is at a standstill, it’s mostly because you two have run out of fun things to do. Whenever you see an opportunity for the two of you to have some extra fun, TAKE IT! Having fun is a surefire way to get that spark back in your relationship.
#10. Address the problem at hand. Sometimes it’s just a rut, but other times it might be something much more serious than that. Figure out which it is and address that issue. They could have done something that put you off or maybe you did something to them.
Either way, in order to start rekindling that hot romance, you have to get rid of whatever is putting a damper on it in the first place.
#11. Spend some time apart. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. Couples who have lost that spark often just spend too much time together and kind of become numb to each other’s presence. Spending time apart gives you both the opportunity to miss each other and the qualities that you love.
#12. Try something new. Sure, eating at the same restaurant every Friday night might be nice, because they know your order before you even walk in the door, but it’s far too predictable. There’s no excitement there and definitely no spark.
Try a new restaurant or go do something that neither of you has ever done… but has always wanted to. Science says that learning something new together brings a couple closer.
#13. Join a group league. If the two of you are in a rut because all you see is each other, this is a fantastic way to spend time rekindling your relationship while also meeting new people. You’ll get to bond in a new environment that can help spark that special something that’s been missing.
#14. Take ballroom dance classes. One—or both—of you may not want to, because it can be intimidating and embarrassing, but trust me. Ballroom dancing is a way to not only bring the two of you closer together physically and emotionally, but it will also give you a new skill to show off at any social event you have to go to.
#15.Take an exotic vacation. Work, chores, and everyday life can take a toll on your relationship. You get so caught up in the routine of it all that you forget you have someone else to put your time and energy into.
To escape all of that so you have time for your significant other, go on an amazing vacation together! You will both be relaxed and happy to be in each other’s company and that spark will reignite on its own.
