12 Simple Ways To Make Your Kitchen Look Extra Expensive

Let’s face it, a kitchen is the most expensive room to renovate. However, if installing new cabinets and renovating will cost a lot, here are a few tips on how to create that beautiful and expensive looking kitchen on a budget.

#1. Replace Hardware

Changing the hardware can completely change the look of the cabinets. Replace drawer and cabinet handles with a nice and unique one that will instant revamp the kitchen.  Use both pulls and knobs, but keep the finishes the same to prevent the look from becoming chaotic.

#2. Paint a light colour

Paint the walls and cabinets in a light colour, this will brighten the kitchen and make it look larger, spacious and expensive. Light colours will reflect light and hide scratches and dents in old cabinets.

#3. Replace Cabinet Doors

Replace old cabinet doors with new ones or repurpose the old doors, so as to give the kitchen a sleek and new look. Use glass or high gloss doors to add glam to the kitchen and use open shelving to show off nice crockery and pieces.

#4. Statement Lighting

Use a statement chandelier or pendant lights to start conversation and create that WOW factor. It can also change the mood of the kitchen.

#5. Use Artwork

Artwork is a great way to upgrade the kitchen. Go big and bold on the artwork, it will give the illusion of a bigger space.

#6. Paint Appliances Stainless Steel

Don’t have stainless steel appliances? No problem. Use a paint-on stainless steel finish to update your appliances that still work well but gives your kitchen an updated feel.

 #7. Window treatment

Dress up your bare windows to instantly dress up your kitchen.

#8. Style your breakfast nook

Add throw pillows, a centre piece and fresh flowers to give your breakfast corner style.

 #9. Add decorative accessories

Add decorative accessories for a subtle change that makes a big difference. Layer in unexpected and unusual elements like wall ferns, decorative accessories on shelves, personal mementos, and interesting textiles to create a unique design.

 #10. De-clutter

Keep your counter top clear of small appliances like toasters, blenders and coffee pots, ensure you store them away. They can be brought out when needed.

 #11. Add an Area rug

By adding a runner or area rug to your kitchen, you’ll add warmth to your space while also keeping your feet comfortable as you cook. This will make the space feel just as decorated as the other areas of your home.

#12. Add some greenery to your space to give it a lived-in, luxurious feel

Windowsill herbs are a safe bet and are not only beautiful, but also functional. Place small pots scattered throughout the space or opt for a single large planter, placed prominently on a counter or island.
